Over the years, while I was on the road, I spent a lot of time on trains, in hotel rooms and cafés writing down tales, short stories that mostly seemed to come out of nowhere. They didn’t of course, they all have some basis in reality, the truth.
I’ve now gathered them together from the old notebooks, re-worked some and found others appearing on the end of my pen while I was doing the gathering – Scout’s Honour in Specky Four Eyes is one such.
There were too many stories for one book and the tales seemed to fall into natural groups, so I decided to slice them up into six smaller books and publish them myself in special limited editions. Only 250 copies of each title will be printed; the books will be numbered and signed by the author.
The first title Specky Four Eyes will be published on May 1st 2025 and the others will hopefully be published in limited signed editions at quarterly intervals.
The cover designs and the typesetting were all the work of my old pal Bryan Ledgard, who is also a great street photographer and who plays the bongos – but not at the same time.
