Hi Mike , only just come across your recent books. I don’t suppose you are going to print any more ‘Specky four eyes’ are you? I would really love to read it. Years ago I had a copy of your book which included the ‘Fete’ and I laughed till I cried! Sadly I leant the book to someone and never got it back. Ayup Mike, I’ve just been watching an old Wheeltappers and Shunters and up you popped on the New Year’s Eve special..Talking Blackpool Blues, it reminded me of the working mens club trips I went on as a kid..adults supping and kids spending their fivers in the arcade and buying all sorts of sweet stuff and ending up like Willie throwing up on the bus in the way home…. Hope your well… you’re still well loved in our house…

Retired from the police now, thank goodness and still looking at my Tokai Telecaster on its stand in the corner of the sitting room – a bit like the pretty girl at the dance that you can’t quite muster the courage to go over to !
Given that I have always enjoyed music so much I really should learn, practice and explore this instrument.

Hello Mike – I’m an ageing folkie and used to listen to your programme on Radio 2 regularly. I found out a few days ago that you are now living in Céret – not sure if this is part-time or full-time. Anyway it so happens I have a house in Céret which I visit a few times a year (where I am at the moment). I like to play a bit of music in folk clubs and open mic sessions, but haven’t found anything like that in France.
So I wondered if you knew of anything like this – or indeed if you’ve set up anything yourself.
